What's on at the library
Art @ the Library
In 2020 Westland Arts Incorporated and Westland District Library collaborated to make a free exhibition space available in the library.
Art @ the Library is a small, nimble and flexible project that aims to provide exhibition space for artistic and innovative proposals.

Artist Statement:
I’ve been painting in acrylics for over 20 years, mainly landscapes from photos I’ve taken around the South Island. I grew up in Southland and spent most of my life living in Queenstown, before moving to Banks Peninsula and then to the West Coast, settling in Awatuna, so I’ve been lucky enough to always live in beautiful places. This has been the source of inspiration for my work to date.
I started painting just to have something original on my own walls, with a focus on nature, and enjoy the process of creating something unique. I’ve sold my own pieces as well as a variety of commissions.
Artworks:
- Oraki
- Skippers Road
- Kotuku
- Bluff Sign
- Braided River
All works are Acrylic on Canvas
If you are interested in any of the pieces from the exhibition or would like to see some of my other work, please get in touch.
